Brown University - Bachelors, Geology/Biology , University of Oxford - PHD, Earth Sciences
I attended college at Brown University as an undecided major. As someone who loved education, it was hard for me to choose what I wanted to study. Instead, I took a number of different classes until I finally found that science was my true calling. Thanks to some excellent professors, I quickly developed a passion for environmental sciences and then pursued a degree in the field. This amazing opportunity allowed me to work in lab settings, where I was able to analyze environmental samples and track data with colleagues. Eventually, I enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Oxford, where I studied the interactions between marine life and climatic variables. This opportunity allowed me to work alongside some of the brightest and most influential minds in the field. During my time studying, I also worked an instructor and science teacher - sometimes in exciting places like Kenya and the Bahamas. My goal as an educator is to inspire a new generation to love science, just like my college professors did for me. For this reason, I am committed to helping students improve their understanding of a number of subjects in science, including biology, earth science, and chemistry. When I'm not teaching and researching, I like to spend my time outdoors.
